Who is Liz Kate?
From strumming her first chords at age five and booking her first acting role by 6, to captivating audiences on stage and
screen over 15 years later, Liz Kate is a multi-talented force to be reckoned with. With roots in both music and acting, her
journey began at an early age.
Growing up with artist grandparents and a mom as a professional B-Girl, Liz Kate was always in the process of creating something.
Her biggest motivation was that her imagination knew no bounds. Her wide creative range fostered a perpetual curiosity about the world around her that inevitably guided her towards her twin passions: music and acting.
Through years of dedicated training and mentorship, Liz Kate honed her craft and developed a diverse creative palette that sets her apart. Under the guidance and mentorship of industry veterans like noted singer, songwriter Vanessa Olivarez and Academy Award winning actress/cousin, Patricia Neal, she refined her skills in songwriting and performance. At the same time, she also trained under esteemed coaches such as Jan Smith (Jan Smith Studios) and Clayton Landey (former president of SAG-AFTRA ATL).
Her journey reached new heights when she caught the eye of Steven Chbowsky and casting directors at Telsey + Co, landing a role in the acclaimed film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen with Universal Pictures. Blending her passions for music and acting, Liz Kate embodies her character “Gemma” by bringing depth, emotion, and authenticity to the story. Learning from industry and songwriting legends, Pasek and Paul, her dreams slowly started to become her reality. Liz Kate went on to be nominated for a Grammy for her featured vocals on the film’s signature song, ‘You Will Be Found’!
Embracing her musical calling, Liz Kate released her debut EP “the world in my head” in 2021, centering around her experiences with mental health. As a creator, Liz Kate tells stories that encourage people to laugh, cry, heal, and connect with a broken world. She makes lyrical themes such as escapism, aspiration and nostalgia her playground and draws from her personal experiences with the depth of pain and joy to write. She graduated from Belmont University with her Bachelor’s degree in Songwriting and Music Business and mentored under people such as Jodi Marr, Cristi Williams, Drew Ramsey, Alan Shacklock, and more during her time there.
Making her mark on the vibrant Nashville and Atlanta scenes, she continues to grace stages with her folk-pop tunes and enchanting vocals. Liz Kate is currently working on her sophomore album to be released in the next year and will bring her fresh perspective to the forefront of the charts. Her longterm goal is to be considered for an EGOT through the stories she is a part of and creates in various mediums. From intimate showcases to renowned venues like The Bluebird Cafe, Eddie’s Attic, and Red Clay Music Foundry, she continues to earn accolades and build a loyal following.
Whether she’s captivating audiences with her performances or inspiring others through her songwriting and storytelling, Liz Kate is a rising star determined to share her mind with the world.
